Job Purpose

As the Senior Director of Project Management supporting the CFO organization community, you will be responsible for delivering optimal end-to-end productivity improvements and supporting Finance as Sophos embarks on a major Business Transformation initiative. This role will align closely with the Finance organization, the IT organization, across business functions, and the Business Transformation PMO. The individual in this role will drive improvements across finance through various means including optimizing and aligning on requirements of current solutions as well as delivering on new solutions aligned to the business transformation effort.

 

The person in this role will be responsible for the content of the solutions delivered, project management and planning necessary to deliver, and the change management and business readiness effort to ensure delivery of a fully usable solution. As part of the business transformation effort, the person in this role will need to focus on the back office solutions which will be impacted by upstream changes in business processes, as well as the implementation of new solutions focused on legal entity structure, revenue solution, indirect tax engine, sales commissions solution, and financial planning solution.  

 

This role will need to align across the CFO organization for expertise in each area, and work closely with the Finance business systems support team and the finance Business Intelligence team to ensure complete solutions are delivered with each phase of the Business Transformation effort. An ability to understand business process issues and communicate across finance and technical solutions are essential to your success in this role. Project management skills and customer service orientation is key.

 

Main Duties

  • Collaborate with business, IT, solution/enterprise architects, and Transformation PMO to translate finance requirements into end-state solutions and ultimately provide project management and oversight to ensure fully functioning solutions are delivered with a high level of quality and business readiness.
  • Organize, lead, and facilitate multiple highly complex, cross-functional, finance and business-aligned initiatives.
  • Solutions must include the end state design as well as all key elements required for implementation including project planning and resource alignment, project status reporting, data conversion, migration and transition, end-state solution documentation, user acceptance testing plan and execution, sign-off, training, and business readiness, business value assessment and tracking, KPIs and aligning on future state reporting requirements.
  • Facilitate across teams to assess requirements and drive analysis to provide optimal end-state solution proposals and define the path to implementation both for standalone solutions and for scope aligned to the overarching business transformation initiative.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • A minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience with major transformation programs
  • Demonstrated project leadership skills with a proven track record of success
  • Focus on delivering exceptional results; persistent and dependable, with a high integrity work ethic; ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Experience in all areas of change management including training, readiness, communications, stakeholder management, impact assessment
  • Ability to build and nurture successful business relationships
  • Strong IT literacy
  • Experience managing a team through planning and executing business readiness tasks, Identifying key stakeholders, Assessing change impact and change readiness, Leading readiness, business process change management, training and communications, Building and managing a governance framework, Formalizing and running a dashboard outlining status of business readiness
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Results oriented with a “do what it takes” attitude
  • Proactively manages customers’ expectations
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to align finance, business and system requirements to deliver full, executable, solutions
  • Must possess strong subject matter expertise in Finance and ideally across Sales, Marketing, Install Base, and/or Customer Support areas with detailed working knowledge of one or more Finance or Business entities: Accounting Operations, Revenue Finance, Sales Finance, Indirect Tax Finance, Consolidations, Legal Entities and Complex Intercompany Accounting for large Multinational Software, Hardware or Cloud companies, Financial Planning
  • Minimum BS degree in Accounting or equivalent years in role
