Job Purpose

The key responsibility of the APJ Senior Technical Trainer is the delivery of Sophos technical certification training to our partners, customers and sales teams in the APJ region. In addition to this, you will be responsible for ensuring that Authorized Training Centers and Associate Trainers across APJ are fully enabled on how to deliver our courses and will be accountable for the quality of delivery throughout the region. 

As well as providing training, you will also work with the Global Enablement and APJ regional teams to plan the training schedule to best meet the needs of the business, as well as supporting the day-to-day management of training demos, platforms and server/network infrastructure. You will also work with colleagues to develop new courses and technical training content, occasionally owning a specific course production, while providing feedback on where we can make these courses even better. 

Finally, you will be responsible for supporting the global enablement needs of Sophos, including the Sales Engineer community, and designing and delivering content to support this.
This role will report to the Head of Technical Enablement, with a dotted line to Local Sales Leadership and Regional Enablement Leadership

Main Duties
•    Deliver high quality technical virtual and in-person training in line with industry recognised best practice on Sophos solutions (Central Endpoint, XG Firewall, UTM, Data Protection and Mobile Control) to Sophos Partners, Customers and Sales Teams
•    Responsible for the on-boarding and continued technical training of the APJ Authorized Training Centres and Associate Trainers to ensure high quality delivery. Work to measure and quality check their execution
•    Support the planning of Partner training across the APJ region including helping shape the training schedule
•    Support the APJ Certified Technical Community, working with other teams in Sophos and either leveraging existing platforms or creating new ones; the goal is to drive deeper engagement with our certified Engineers and Architects
•    Work with the regional Sales and SE teams to understand their enablement needs and develop programs and materials to support them. Deliver webinars and in-person training sessions where required as part of this role
•    Support partners completing self-study training 
•    Be a part of the content development team to create, maintain and develop training content where required. This will include any supporting content including lab guides, lab environments and assessments as they apply to the certification courses you are delivering and helping to develop
•    Work closely with the regional validation team, to review existing content and work with colleagues to design and create new training to address the needs identified
•    Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of industry, technical and competitive landscape to ensure the presentation and sale of the best Sophos solutions
•    Work with the rest of the global enablement team to handle incoming queries and troubleshoot issues as needed
•    Travel throughout the APJ region may be required to deliver training (around 25% max), although training is mainly delivered virtually 

Skills & Experience


•    Experience with security solutions (Network, Anti-Malware, Data Protection, Mobile, Email and Web)
•    Creation and Delivery of technical training to technical and non-technical people
•    Knowledge of common OS and Network topologies
•    Experience with supporting virtual platforms (VMWare, Hyper-V, Xen)
•    Experienced in working across multiple geographic regions
•    Deep technical knowledge of security concepts and how they relate to business requirements
•    Ability to assess technical requirements and propose appropriate solutions
•    Excellent oral presentation, written communication skills 
•    Strong Communication and Interpersonal skills
•    Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and build productive working relationships
•    Ability to execute on a number of parallel tasks and prioritize appropriately
•    Ability to install and manage small heterogeneous networks 
•    Ability to write custom scripts and tools 

•    Experience running and configuring network firewalls in corporate networks
•    Experience with supporting Windows OS and Mac OSX
•    Proven track record of troubleshooting IT computer, server or network issues to successful resolution
•    Knowledge of Sophos Security Products
•    Ability to understand the impact of decisions on other areas of the business
•    Ability to identify, influence and manage ad hoc teams without solid lines of authority
