Data Analyst, Consumer

Job Purpose:

As a Data Analyst, Consumer at Sophos, you will be an active member of a growing, cross-disciplinary team of developers, marketers, and product managers operating one of the fastest-growing consumer cybersecurity product groups in the industry. You will provide insight, analysis, and contextual understanding that helps us build products customers love and achieve our aggressive business growth goals.

This role will join the Consumer team, responsible for driving growth and generating revenue for the company through our award-winning consumer products Sophos Home Premium and Hitman Pro.

Main Duties:

  • Translate complex data sets into insights and actions that help drive the growth of our consumer business and the quality of our products
  • Have your finger on the pulse of the business, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and highlighting important trends
  • Have an excellent understanding of subscription software business and marketing and product metrics
  • Proactively seek out opportunities hidden in our or industry data, and articulate your findings into suggested actions for the marketing and/or product teams
  • Support the fiscal year planning and ongoing forecasting process
  • Manage diverse ad-hoc projects that require analytical and critical thinking as well as attention to detail
  • Enjoy and have passion for learning new tools or techniques to enhance our approach to analytics

Skills & Experience:

  • You are a data analytics expert who can confidently lead multiple projects simultaneously and contextualize and prioritize work
  • You have proven (3-5 years) experience in an analyst role, ideally in a consumer software, eCommerce, or strategy consulting environment
  • You live in Excel, SQL, Tableau (or similar visualization tools), Google Data Studio, etc.
  • You get a kick out of solving complex problems and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • You are confident with learning new tools, technologies, and methodologies
  • You want to be part of a growing, entrepreneurial team with daily exposure to engineering, marketing, product, and support colleagues
  • You are willing to travel up to 10% of your time to attend industry events and team offsites
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in data science or business
