Role Summary

At Sophos, we’re building one of the most innovative data platforms in the security industry, as a foundation for all of our strategic initiatives across all products. We’re looking for a Product Management leader who appreciates what it takes to manage big data in the cloud, both for transactional decisions and forensic analytics, while tracking costs and attribution. You’ll be a highly visible member of the Sophos Central team, responsible for your roadmap, and on critical path for delivery of the next gen products. You will participate in product strategy, planning sessions, product design, and requirements gathering. You will partner with brilliant engineering teams and architects across the globe to build innovative solutions for real-world problems.

What You Will Do :

  • You have a background in engineering, data analytics, data science and/or cloud-based data solutions.
  • You have led efforts to build data platforms before, whether as a Technical Lead or a Product Manager.
  • You have a proven record of delivering products
  • You want to work with the latest in cloud technology stacks and data solutions
  • You like Data Structures, Data Models, Data Lakes, Schemas, and of course writing queries across various types of data stores - Document, Relational, Elastic, Columnar… but Graphs are your favorite
  • You are inspired and invigorated by complex problems, with many facets to identify and consider
  • You love order and clarity in everything – from global concepts to minute details, and you strive for it in all you do
  • You see patterns everywhere, and try to optimize even every-day actions to maximum efficacy (not to mention that you can perfectly load more stuff into a dishwasher, or refrigerator, than anyone would believe is possible, and/or you’re a Tetris champion)
  • You’re ready and willing to step up, make hard decisions about prioritization, and defend your choices
  • You are a motivated self-starter, thriving on challenge, with a thirst for knowledge
  • You have great communication skills, written and verbal, and can explain complex concepts in an engineering demo, and at executive level

What You Will Bring

  • 5-10 Years progressive experience in Product Management or Technical leadership
  • 2+ Years’ Experience with AWS or other cloud data solution
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies (and when to not use them)
  • You can speak Developer – you must be able to understand, evaluate, and act on information not only from the Data Groups, but from developers and architects across the organization.
