Job Purpose

 

The Financial Accountant will provide support in preparing the consolidated Group accounts for publishing (both internal and external) and be a main point of contact for the Group’s auditors during the audits. Additionally, the role will have responsibility for the accounting and liaison with payroll administrators in respect of withholding taxes arising on transactions within the Groups Share Plans. The position will also be one of the main administrators for the Group’s Banking systems and Treasury policies.

 

Main Duties

 

Financial Reporting and accounting

 

  • Maintain the Groups consolidation system (BPC) and perform basic consolidations including consolidation entries
  • Ensuring accurate and complete exchange rates are maintained in SAP and BPC
  • Account for the Group’s internal and external debt including loan fees
  • Accounting for deferred taxes on Group intangibles and deferred revenues
  • Reporting on Group Fixed assets in reporting currency (USD)
  • Accounting for Group Intangibles including amortisation
  • Accounting for the Share Capital and reserves of the listed company
  • Reconciliation of holding company bank accounts
  • Reconciliation of proceeds form option exercises and WHT received from Share Plan provider
  • Reporting WHT and related gains on equity awards to payroll administrators for processing using the Group’s share plan
  • Supporting colleagues using BPC to generate Group reports e.g. Group cash reporting and tax reporting

 

Treasury activities

 

  • Main administrator of the Groups key banking systems (HSBC, Barclays) including setting up new users and maintain signature limits in accordance with mandates
  • Serve as first point of contact between internal users and the Banks and their relationship managers
  • Liaise with the legal department in respect of Board minutes and Mandates
  • Responsibility for the maintenance of the Group’s Treasury policy
  • Respond to KYC (know-your-customer) requests from the Banks, including gathering proof of identity and address of senior management
  • Opening accounts with new and existing Banks
  • Member of the legal entities working group which is responsible for the creation of new Group entities worldwide

 

Special Conditions

 

  • Holiday restrictions may apply at month-ends and financial year-end.

 

Organisational Responsibility

 

  • Reports to the Group Reporting and Treasury Director
  • This position has no direct nor indirect reports.

 

Experience

 

Essential

 

  • Good grasp of basic accounting entries (debits and credits)
  • large company ERP system exposure, SAP preferred
  • basic consolidations

 

Desirable

 

  • Working within a global organisation, ideally a software company
  • IFRS accounting standards
  • personal taxation
  • accounting for impact of foreign exchange rates

  • Good MS Office skills, particularly Excel to intermediary level (pivot tables and Lookups)
