Job Purpose

As a member of the Group Finance  team you will assist from a Finance Team perspective with the completion of the Group’s order to cash systems enhancement project.  You will lead the Finance team on the improvement of the finance systems and help see those improvements through to fruition, in terms of working with subject matter experts in the existing team, specifying, testing and supporting the project.  You will be involved in planning, blueprinting, testing and implementing major changes and updates to key systems used by the Group.  Working within a global function you will be in contact with overseas offices on a regular basis interfacing with dispersed teams to ensure the function’s system needs are met.


Duties & Responsibilities

As the lead for the Finance Team you will represent financial control and commercial finance on all aspects of the project working closely with the business intelligence, IT, operations and supply chain teams.  Responsibilities to include all phases of the project:


  • Planning            
  • Monitoring progress     
  • Initiation & Discovery   
  • Design 
  • Implementation (UAT)  
  • Data migration 
  • Business Change            
  • Service transition           
  • Hypercare        


And to cover, but not limited to:

  • Build a detailed knowledge of the systems that make up the reporting environment and advise on the impact of changes.  You will coordinate and where possibly in most cases deputise for the in-function subject matter expert.
  • Understanding and aiding all aspects of the use of the order to cash finance systems and how these integrate to other finance systems
  • Maintenance of finance systems including master data, query resolution, and error reporting
  • Help influence decisions on improvements and controls within the finance systems and upstream and downstream systems in line with best practice taking an active role in specifying, testing and supporting the development of new processes and internal controls or enhancements
  • Provide support to Finance teams in all geographic locations


You will work very closely with the project team in connection with enhancements to the finance systems.  You will be the primary point of contact within Finance for project team.


Skills and Experience

  • Qualified accountant
  • Detailed knowledge of SAP and a BI/DW environment
  • Highly IT literate
  • Experience of a financial accounting and reporting environment
  • Experience of key finance system upgrade projects
  • Excellent communication skills / inter-personal skills and influencing skills
  • Ability to work closely with IT and third-party system integrators
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple work streams and prioritise accordingly
  • Self-motivated and wishing to make a difference, with a track record of achievements
  • Experience of system implementations and / or major enhancements
  • Experience of a multi-national company environment
  • Experience of working with senior management teams
