Job Purpose
As System Engineer Teamleader you have to handle all technical aspects to manage partners by determining technical requirements, matching them to Sophos solutions, and making product trials and evaluations successful. Moreover you will lead a small team of System Engineers to deliver high-quality and robust services to (over-) achieve targets, in the Eastern Europe Region.


Location: Krakow 

Main Duties

  • Help sales to sell more and increase the company revenue by utilising their technical sales skills to convince partners to sell Sophos solutions.
  • Query prospects and partners to qualify sales opportunities in conjunction with sales team in order to accurately determine product fit, size and probability of success.
  • Deliver product and company presentations and demos to prospects and channel partners with the goal of getting them to buy or sell Sophos solutions. 
  • Deliver product and company presentations in front of larger audiences at events.
  • Conduct needs analysis (via phone, email or in person) with the partners’ technical staff to determine technical requirements and specifications of solution in line with Sophos best practices.
  • Collect and aggregate partner feedback, feeding into Product Management to improve product development in order to address market demands.
  • Address high volume of partner questions and requirements in a quality driven, comprehensive manner to ensure partner satisfaction 
  • Assist and manage frequent technical evaluations by working with partners through proof of concept testing and implementation with the goal of a strong recommendation to purchase Sophos products.
  • Occasional internal product training for sales staff, Sales Engineering team and/or other teams
  • Supporting and assisting the training of partners
  • You will explain complex topics to partners and customers in a clear and concise format with the goal of convincing them to resell Sophos solutions.
  • Lead a small team of Sales Engineers
  • Manage group and individual performance and productivity with support of own manager
  • Ensure that formal staff performance reviews for team members are conducted
  • Define priorities and assign projects for employees
  • Give input to the annual salary review process for employees

Skills & Experience

  • Degree in related field
  • Extensive experience in technical pre-sales support with networking devices like firewalls, proxies, VPN gateways or UTMs
  • Very good technical expertise in architecture components in design solutions (network design, routing, switching, etc)
  • Excellent competitive technical understanding of major competitors
  • Experience working with and supporting channel partners
  • Ability to present technical matters in front of a non-technical audience
  • Ability to perform needs assessment, understanding technical needs/fit, pain points and competitive threats
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal also in English
  • Ability to proactively manage assigned opportunities and activities
  • Ability to be hands-on, working directly with prospects and customers, handling technical requirements and configuration issues
  • Willingness to travel within Eastern Europe Territory
