Job Purpose

Sophos Home for Mac is a premiere cybersecurity product used by over a million users around the world, at the cutting edge of detection and proactive prevention against threats targeting the Mac platform these days. You’ll be involved in all aspects of our agile development process in an open, collaborative environment. We are passionate about making very secure, high quality software for the latest Mac platforms, and are looking for people with a similar point of view. Main Responsibilities:

  • Write product code along with test automation to deliver against project timelines, quality and requirements
  • Actively contribute to release planning, and drive for high-value and high-quality solutions which meet business needs
  • Participate in the design of products in line with technical strategy, quality and functionality requirements
  • Effectively contribute during pair programming to deliver tasks as required by the agile team
  • Contribute to daily stand-ups, kick-offs, collaborative estimation and retrospective meetings;
  • Participate in security reviews to ensure that released products comply with Sophos’ security requirements and industry best practice;
  • Other duties and responsibilities as directed.

 

 

Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Experience in developing software for macOS in Objective C or Swift.
  • Experience in building complex software in an agile team environment, including working and collaborating with remote team members.
  • Able to work autonomously and deliver in line with project roadmaps whilst working collaboratively within the wider team environment;
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly and apply them to the role;
  • Analytical with an eye for detail with a continuous improvement ethos;
  • Devotion to producing high quality, high performance systems with a great user experience
  • Sense of humor and a willingness to have fun

Desirable:

 

  • Designing software systems and components;
  • Experience in Security reviews, Secure coding and meeting Security requirements;
  • Experience of continuous integration, build and test;
  • Working knowledge of Python or other scripting language;
  • Some experience in web development, particularly using Angular or AngularJS.
  • Mentoring and Coaching others
