Job Purpose


As a Software Developer in the Network Security Group, you will contribute to the design, development and release of software updates to products that’s used by thousands of customers around the world. You will be working on an Agile development team, and be involved in all aspects of the software development process. You will work closely with Product Managers and QA Analysts to ensure the team delivers quality products to our customers.

This role provides a great opportunity to immerse yourself in a fully Agile development team that delivers quality products to real customers around the world. The team has a healthy ‘continuous improvement’ mentality, so there will also be opportunities to try out new technologies and processes.

This position is based at our Canadian office in Vancouver, British Columbia


Main Duties

  • Work with the Product Manager and Development Manager to understand and refine product requirements
  • Design and develop reliable, maintainable, high-quality code that’s well unit-tested
  • Diagnose and correct functional and performance problems
  • Participate in design and code reviews.
  • Work with QA Analysts to help define test ideas and ensure features are properly tested
  • Help troubleshoot product issues escalated by our Sales/Support staff
  • Participate in project planning activities with the entire team


Skills & Experience



  • 2+ years’ experience developing with front-end stack (HTML, CSS, React.js/Angular.js)
  • 2+ years’ experience in developing software using C/C++/Java or another modern language
  • Experience working with commercial Linux-based products
  • Working knowledge of different networking protocols (e.g. HTTP/HTTPS, FTP, TCP/IP)
  • Outstanding software design, coding, and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to prioritize, focus and drive tasks to completion
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Strong team player who prioritizes achieving goals as a team
  • Sense of humor and a willingness to have fun



  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment
  • Experience in developing software using Perl
  • Experience with Test Driven Development practices
  • Experience working with enterprise-level virtualization products (e.g. VMware ESX/ESXi) in a commercial capacity
  • Experience applying network/web security principles
  • Experience in the development of web or virus protection software
  • Experience writing automated system level tests
  • Ability and willingness to multi-task and learn new technologies quickly
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Software or equivalent
