Job Purpose:

Sophos is seeking a Technical Trainer to develop, own and drive training and enablement-focused projects and programs for the Sophos Managed Threat Response team. In this position, you will create and conduct technical training courses for customers and/or employees in the use of multiple Sophos products during complex situations. Central to this role will be working with internal and external stakeholders, so you will need to bring strong and relevant experience of managing projects and programs involving multiple inputs and driving success for all involved parties. This is an excellent opportunity to join an experienced team within Sophos, and to take control of and accelerate both new and existing programs.

 

Main Duties

  • Drive the development and execution of training on topics such as security operations polices, processes and procedures, threat hunting, and incident response
  • Create curricula from multiple sources of information including, but not limited to operational processes, procedures and polices, engineering documentation, field service requirements or software documentation
  • Drive the design of digital and multimedia training curricula
  • Collaborate with SMEs to ensure appropriateness and accuracy of curriculum content
  • Coordinate with various internal teams to ensure that course material reflects current product features
  • Instruct participants in both classroom lectures and laboratory sessions; both in live and remote/virtual settings
  • Ensure documentation is regularly updated to ensure applicability and accuracy of course material
  • Create technical adversarial attack simulations using lab resources with the goal of developing/growing analysts’ skillsets
  • Remain current on the latest research and trends in cybersecurity to maintain SME-level knowledge and insight
  • Ensure effectiveness of training activities through assessing course feedback and performance evaluations

 

Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience within a cybersecurity environment; 3+ years of experience developing content for technical training and/or within a formalized training role
  • Hands-on experience using or teaching the use of security tools including SIEM, adversarial simulation, or forensics tools
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both spoken and written English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus
  • High comfort level when speaking to large groups
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into simple and understandable narratives
  • Possession of current technical certifications relating to the domain of cybersecurity is a plus
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
  • Thrives in a multitasking environment and can adjust priorities on-the-fly
