Job Purpose:

Working with the Senior Director, Product Management for email, this role is responsible for working with development teams globally to define and execute requirements for our flagship email security product, Sophos Email. The role is measured by execution against plan priorities and engagement with teams globally to help them deliver to time and quality.


Main Duties

  • Provide input to the Sophos Product Roadmap for Sophos Email, the flagship email security product for the company
  • Align product development against and input to the business plan for the assigned areas.
  • Take the lead in developing requirements and user stories for assigned products with the development teams at the Vancouver location, working in an agile process.
  • Develop and foster relationships directly with internal key influencers/leaders (e.g. key engineering leaders and sales engineering staff) in order to inform and execute product priorities.
  • Manage expectations with senior product leadership providing status, action plans and recommendations related to the managed product lines.
  • Participate in cross functional teams in the coordination of delivery to plan.
  • Rigorous pursuit of knowledge related to market trends, market influencers, competitors and channels to market as a baseline for driving product priorities and delivery.
  • Provide leadership to ensure a high quality product experience for partners and customers (e.g. revised processes, lead resolution of issues, UX/UI design).
  • Act as a topic specialist for all Sophos products, providing information and guidance to Sales, Marketing and Technical Support to assist in sales and customer issue resolution. 
  • Work with the Engineering team(s) to ensure that all projects that form part of the strategic product plans are tracking to plan and any issues are addressed promptly or escalated to senior management for resolution (with recommendations for resolution). 
  • Regular proactive status communication of progress to plans and any deviations.
  • Act as a point of contact for the Project Management team during the product delivery lifecycle providing leadership and decisions to ensure all activities meet plan.


Skills & Experience:


  • At least 10 years’ experience as a Product Manager (with at least 3-5 at a Senior PM level) within a high-tech environment;
  • Expert knowledge of email security and/or email storage products
  • Experience of working in collaboration with a diverse range of business functions and customers to drive change and achieve delivery;
  • Experience of working with agile development teams and requirement definition/story breakdown for these teams
  • An innovative and passionate approach;
  • Working across different timezones with multiple teams;
  • Experience working with UX/UI teams designing a compelling customer experience in software
  • A natural evangelist. 



  • Delivery of services through a SaaS based model
  • Technical/business focused degree level education or equivalent experience
