Job Purpose

The Senior Tax Manager will be responsible all areas of direct tax for the Americas.  This includes federal, state, Canada and LATAM compliance, tax forecasting, US GAAP and IFRS tax accounting, tax planning, and audit defence related to the Americas. This role would suit someone with broad-based technical tax knowledge to help make decisions in compliance, reporting and ad hoc projects.  You will work closely with the business so your approach must be commercial, and you will need to be confident in building relationships with the wider business and finance teams.  This role will report to the Head of Global Tax Reporting and Compliance.

 

Main Duties

  • Managing the America’s direct tax compliance and reporting
  • Supporting the delivery of top-quality global reporting and forecasting
  • Reviewing the global tax provision process for improvements and technology solutions
  • Delivery of world class tax support to the business
  • Communication of tax matters with non-tax stakeholders
  • Assisting with the management of direct tax compliance in every territory where we operate
  • Assisting with managing overseas compliance via third parties
  • Mentoring the America’s Senior Tax Analyst
  • Managing and communicating tax risk
     

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • CPA or MST required
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and working knowledge of IFRS
  • 7+ years’ experience in a multinational organization (preferably publicly traded) or Big 4 accounting firm
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Tax technology skills desirable
  • Ability to drive change
  • Sound commercial awareness and understanding of business drivers
  • Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise personal workload
  • Self starter with the ability to work effectively in multicultural, international teams focused on identifying practical solutions
  • Excellent English writing and speaking skills with the ability to present complex subject matter clearly and succinctly
