Location: Paris or Lyon 


Job Purpose:
The Pre-Sales Engineer will handle all technical aspects of a sales cycle by determining technical requirements of our Partner/Customers, matching them to Sophos solutions, and making product trials and evaluations successful.


Main Duties: 

  • Plan and deliver sales & technical presentations at marketing, partner and end-user events & meetings.
  • Review sales opportunities passed from the sales teams, understanding the size, value and technical complexity, establish and agree the appropriate level of sales engineering resource to be assigned.
  • Conduct technical demonstrations when required by the partner/customer, using demonstration software and tools. 
  • Own and drive technical evaluations by working with prospects through proof of concept testing.
  • Build robust and productive relationship with technical staff at key partners 


Experience and Skills:

  • Previous experience working as technical pre- and/or post-sales support in computer software or systems environment
  • Technical background in networking and security applications (Firewalls, Proxies, Endpoint Protection, …)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both internally and externally.
  • Experience in working and supporting channel partners and customers
  • Understanding of public cloud infrastructures like AWS, Azure, GCP and related network and security designs
  • Willingness to substantial travel within France in support of sales opportunities and partner training, internationally for conferences and training. (apx. 50% travel).
