Job Purpose

As a Security Solutions Engineer you will handle all technical aspects of operations by determining technical requirements, matching them to Sophos solutions, and ensuring product demos and proof of concepts are successful. You will explain complex topics to partners and customers in a clear and concise format with the goal of convincing them to buy, resell or recommend Sophos solutions.

Reporting to the Hong Kong Country Manager, you will also report dotted line to the GC SE function Manager. 

Main Duties

  • Query prospects to qualify opportunities in conjunction with operations in order to accurately determine product fit, size and probability of success
  • Conduct product and company presentations and demos to channel partners and prospects, with the goal of getting them to market / recommend Sophos solutions
  • Conduct in-depth needs analysis (via phone, email or in person) with prospect technical staff to determine technical requirements and specifications of solution in line with Sophos best practices
  • Collect and aggregate prospect feedback, feeding into Product Management and other teams to better direct product development to meet market demand
  • Track and document partner technical capabilities for inclusion in planning and management and assist prospect technical staff in high-level design and architecture of prospect solutions based on appropriate sizing and resiliency guidelines; 
  • Speak in events and conferences as representative of Sophos on security landscape and solutions.
  • Identify gaps in partner tactics and address high volume of prospect questions and requirements in a quality driven, comprehensive manner to ensure prospect satisfaction and provide tools and solutions to address the gaps and requirements
  • Assist operations in the close of business by demonstrating technical fit of Sophos solutions
  • Assist and manage frequent technical evaluations by working with prospects through proof of concept testing and implementation with the goal of a strong recommendation to acquire Sophos product
  • Occasional internal product training for operations
  • Identify, develop and deliver training for partners and prospects/customers that accelerates the development of partner technical resource
  • Reporting on pre-determined interval (local and regional teams).
  • Perform other duties as required.

 

Skills & Experience

 

Essential:

  • College degree from an accredited institution or equivalent industry experience
  • At least five (5) years experience working with security solutions, having experience with both endpoint and network solutions is a plus
  • A record of achievement and technical solution expertise in a comparable position
  • Product certification, engineering credential, or equivalent technical credential
