Job Purpose:

As a Senior Product Manager at Sophos, you will be responsible for driving the product direction of our Consumer business.  From building the product roadmap, to working with engineering on product, quality, and schedule decisions, as well as working with marketing and sales to develop the GTM plan, and communicating to all stakeholders throughout the process. You will provide leadership and be a spokesperson both internally and externally. You will develop requirements documents, research the market and the competition, and investigate possible partnerships, including recommendations for OEM or M&A. You will define and highlight the product differentiation so that marketing, sales and partners can build the messaging to accelerate growth. Attention to detail, a sharp pen, and an eye for quality, along with the ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into tangible benefits is crucial. 

 

Main Duties:

  • Develop requirements documents and roadmaps to define the features and capabilities necessary to win in this market
  • Market intelligence: Have a complete understanding how your customers buy and their buying criteria. Become the expert on your competition, and how to win against them.
  • Project Management: Work with product team on a daily basis to align the team to the roadmap, keep the product releases on track, and evaluate trade-offs to get the product to market
  • Positioning: Develop product strategy and feature differentiation to distinguish Sophos Home in the consumer market
  • Partner enablement: Work with the Sophos sales organization to identify, build out, and optimize new channel partnership opportunities.
  • Service/Product launches: Plan the launches of new products and services for Sophos Home and lead the cross-functional implementation of the plan.
  • Press and Analyst support: Work with Corporate Communications team to brief analysts and press as required.
  • Partner with Product Marketing counterparts and commercial teams to support the go to market plans (channel programs/promotions, product/service positioning, sales briefs, promotions, PR activities).
  • Communication: Keep the Sophos Home team, senior management, sales, channel partners, marketing, and support up to date continuously.

 

Skills & Experience:

You will have proven background in Product Management and Project Management, as well as a good understanding of the Consumer security market and online direct sales. You will be a natural networker, influencer, and evangelist, able to excite constituents about Sophos Home, the Sophos vision for consumer offerings, and partnership opportunities.  You are an innovative thinker and willing to share your ideas in all parts of the organization to maximize the opportunity for Sophos.

Essential:

  • 3-5 years consumer software/SaaS product management experience
  • Demonstrated experience building great user experiences.
  • Experience of working in collaboration with a diverse range of business functions and customers to drive change and achieve delivery
  • World class communication and presentation skills, and experience of interacting with different areas of the business
  • Analytical, strategic, and data driven
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to forge and maintain relationships. Combining business, technology and budget challenges to produce results
  • Solid writing skills and a passion for creating the right product for the right audience
  • Excellent people skills to interact with colleagues, cross-functional teams, and third parties
  • A natural evangelist
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • An innovative and passionate approach
  • Hands-on and action-oriented

 

Desired:

  • You have demonstrated success planning and executing global product launches, preferably with consumer security product offerings delivered through the cloud
  • Good knowledge of the consumer security market and products with an appreciation of the operational practices, business functionalities and competitive landscape
  • MBA degree is a plus
