Inside Sales Engineer

Job Purpose

Responsible for providing presales support for Managed Threat Response to the Global sales organization as well as actively working with customers experiencing breaches through the Sophos incident response service. 

Main Duties

  • Provide presales support to the Global sales organization by being a subject matter experts on SOPHOS Managed Threat Response and Rapid Response
  • Work with all sales and account teams to provide presales support via remote engagements, product demonstrations, proof of concepts and answers to technical questions about our service offerings
  • Develop enablement tools for demonstrations, videos and proof of concepts that show the service advantages of SOPHOS Managed Threat Response
  • Provide availability for night and weekend rotations in support of selling SOPHOS Rapid Response incident response service
  • Proactively manage and deliver technical information to partners while building and maintaining key partner technical relationships
  • Participate in channel partner enablement activities
  • Support lead generation activities such as events, webinars, user groups,etc.
  • Work closely with product management to provide customer and partner feedback on features, product direction, etc.

Skills & Experience


  • Deep technical knowledge of networking, endpoint security concepts, managed detection and response (MDR) and business requirements
  • Strong presentation, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent project management skills and writing skills
  • Ability to be self motivated and thrive in a team environment
  • Knowledge of security software industry, including competitors, market needs and trends
  • Familiarity with Sophos solutions or similar competitive products is a plus
  • Certifications in networking, security or cloud space is a plus
  • Strong Troubleshooting skills
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience providing software technical support to channel partners and end users (e.g., designing, managing, administering, and supporting technical solutions)


  • Experience managing IT infrastructure is a plus, though not required
  • Experience selling security solutions is a plus, though not required
  • Experience with pre-sales technical support, is a plus though not required
