Job Purpose

As Senior Project Manager, you will have lead responsibility to facilitate the delivery of key company projects that will change the way we do business and will impact the way we deliver products. Your role sits within Compliance (Legal) because you will work at a grassroots level across the Company to implement change that delivers Product Certifications, Regulatory Certifications, Operational Efficiencies in Import/Export functions, and visibility to Regulatory Exposure. Your role is how Compliance delivers its value-add to Company Products and global operations. You will facilitate the Compliance function that opens markets, protects markets, and reduces the Company’s exposure to liability. You will work directly within Legal and interact across multiple business functions in a global company.


Generally, this role requires that you show:


  • Lead responsibility to facilitate, implement, and deliver key projects that add value to products and bring operational efficiency to processes;
  • Proven ability to instill confidence of stakeholders and business leaders and leverage their existing Teams, skill sets, and processes to deliver project requirements;
  • Intellectual curiosity in corporate architecture, operational processes, product delivery, and viable digital improvement across a global company;  
  • Experience in industrial engineering or equivalent, project management as a value-add, and proven success in initiating and closing key company projects.


This role does not require that you be a subject matter expert in regulatory or legal requirements. Instead, you will be a hands-on, operational lead that defines, initiates, facilitates, advises, and closes on identified projects that improve Company products and processes that impact revenue or bring cost savings. You will report directly to the Vice President, Compliance (Legal) and will have the flexibility to be based in Vancouver, Canada; Ottawa, Canada; Reston, VA; or Burlington, MA.


Main Duties

  • Facilitate identified Projects to achieve Project Objectives;
  • Message Project Objectives to the Project Team to keep them moving toward a practical and achievable Project close;
  • Drive and develop the business case that supports each Project you lead and adds confidence to stakeholders in the direction and objective of the Project;
  • Work with VP, Compliance to identify and define Company Projects;
  • Audit and improve existing Compliance functions;
  • Develop and own the Compliance Dashboard, which gives visibility to key Compliance functions that brings transparency to regulatory requirements and insight into the Company’s exposure to regulatory liability;
  • Understand the landscape of available process tools that facilitate Project Objectives. 


Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or engineering; Master’s degree preferred;
  • 7+ years’ experience in Project Management;
  • Superior oral and written communication and presentation skills, including versatility in digital presentation tools;
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; Hindu, Arabic, or Chinese language skills are a plus
  • Experience working with software and database tools;
  • Experience working with software and hardware engineers and the products they create.
  • Project Experience—has nurtured and guided Project Team Members and multiple Projects at the same time;
  • Industry Experience—has worked in software and hardware technology that delivers products and services to consumers;
  • Creative Problem Solving—identifies, develops, and deploys pragmatic business solutions;
  • Reliable Initiative—is a self-starter, leads complex projects, and sets priorities;
  • Responsible and Accountable—ability to assess, initiate, facilitate, and close on a project objectives;

  • Cross-Functional Work Ethic—leverages and collaborates across multiple business functions in a global company.
