Role Summary

The Senior Program Manager for Process, Policy and Training will report directly to the Global Sourcing & Real Estate Vice President.  The person will have key responsibility for all aspects of developing and implementing processes, policies, and training that the Global Sourcing organization is involved in, as well as managing and influencing communication and adoption.  Also, they will be the primary Program and Project Manager that will lead the creation and implementation of key programs for the organization.  

The right candidate will have excellent teamwork skills and partnering ability with multiple departments and stakeholders, as well as being able to present and communicate effectively (both oral and written) with all levels of management.  They will be expected to develop strong working relationships with the business and other back office departments. 

 

What You Will Do

•    Partnering with Shared Service teams on processes and policies that affect Global Sourcing (i.e. Supplier Onboarding, Contracting, etc.).  
•    Creation, implementation, and training for processes and policies that Global Sourcing leads.  
•    Working closely with Procurement, Legal, Finance, Security, Application Development, and other teams to identify needs, understand the context and processes currently in place, and to develop, implement, communicate and train on the most efficient and effective ways to get things done.  
•    Responsible for developing the sourcing policy, and implementing that across Sophos.  
•    Training people within the organization and outside the team on process and policy, as well as determining and finding sources to fill the training needs of the department. 
•    Identifying and implementing specific projects for the team as needed.  
•    Serving as a key part of creating (and sometimes delivering) presentation materials and communicating them effectively. 
•    Develop close working relationships at all levels of the Finance, Legal, Procurement, Sourcing, and Development organizations so as to fully understand their needs, as well as having the ability to influence and shape our processes to optimize them.  
•    Understand and research the industry so you remain aware of best practices, leading suppliers, benchmark best practices, etc.
•    Partner with Shared Service organizations to manage onboarding, contracting and negotiations with suppliers as efficiently and effectively as possible
•    Lead regular business reviews with key suppliers
•    Create approval decks and contract summaries for obtaining internal buy-in
•    Work closely with Sophos business partners and their teams to bring significant value for the business
•    Create efficiencies in the organization to enable sourcing leads to drive savings and SUM (Spend Under Management) 
•    Work cross functionally with global and regional counterparts
•    Negotiate remediations with suppliers, when necessary
•    Develop a thorough knowledge of company operations, policies, and procedures
•    Manage highly confidential and critical information

•    Flexibility required to work extra hours at short notice
•    May require some travel

 

What You Will Bring

•    10+ years of strategic process, policy, training, and project management experience
•    5+ sourcing and category management expertise 
•    5+ years of Leadership and Strategy development
•    Direct experience with Sourcing/Procurement & Contracting processes and policies
•    An understanding of the economics of the industries we source in and support
•    Ability to view all categories in a strategic context, and to implement those strategies
•    Partnership and relationship management expertise with business units and Corporate functions

•    Problem solving and analytical skills
•    Excellent reading comprehension and the ability to understand complex contracts
•    Strong written and oral communication experience 
•    Presentation experience to large audiences and executive leaders
•    Able to work across cultures effectively, valuing diversity within a virtual team
•    Track record of performance
•    Proficient in PowerPoint deck creation, Excel, Teams and Word

•    4-year degree in related field or equivalent experience
