Job Purpose

The key objective of the position is to assist in the provision of strategic financial support to various functions / departments of the Group.  The individual will assist in the preparation of all forward looking financial projections including the Long-Term Plan, the Annual Operating Budget and the Forecasts as well as then having a detailed understanding of actual results and variances to previously prepared projections.

This role involves partnering on a day-to-day basis with members of the Senior Management Team and the Finance departments in the UK and around the world.


Duties & Responsibilities

The job-holder is responsible for both the provision of timely and accurate Financial information, and the maintenance of relationships with senior employees of the company.  Specific responsibilities will include:

Business Partnering

  • Provide consistent, high quality financial business partnering support for the following Group functions:
    • IT
    • HR
    • Legal
    • Marketing
  • Manage the Operating and Capital Expenditure planning and forecasting processes for each of the respective functions:
    • Wrk closely with the executives to deliver Forecasts as well as the annual Plan
    • Provide a narrative on changes to the Plan as it evolves and suggest actions and work with managers to drive the required outcome
    • Take responsibility for the input of projections into the Group’s respective systems
    • Wrk closely with the Financial Control and Group reporting teams to understand and communicate the Group’s actual financial results and variances to Plan and forecast
    • Implement and drive adption of defined processes & procedures
    • Review all significant expenditures fr business sanity
    • Track and Frecast headcount position and related costs for the functions
    • Cntinuous assessment of forecasting accuracy
  • Responsible for relationship management in and between key operational areas
  • Communicate Financial results clearly to the functions supported and highlight any relevant risks or opportunities
  • Assist wider finance department in forecasting and scenario modelling as required
  • Assist in long-term planning and modelling as required



  • Prepare the relevant monthly management accounts for each respective business partnering function
  • Assistance in preparation of high quality review materials for discussion at meetings with the VP Finance / Senior Management Team / CFO /CEO
  • Drive the provision and communication of self-service reporting by the business
  • Assist in ad hoc reporting activities as required


  • Build knowledge of the systems that make up the reporting and forecasting environment and make recommendations for changes and improvements
  • Lead work streams contributing to successful Commercial Finance project deliveries  
  • Work closely with internal management and external stakeholders on data collection, verification and modelling


Skills and Experience


  • Excellent communication skills / inter-personal skills and influencing skills
  • Experience of successful business partnering with senior management teams
  • Experience of managing a successful team
  • Qualified CPA/CMA with a Commercial Finance background
  • Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience
  • Experience of Planning and Forecasting
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills
