Role Summary:

As a member of the Finance team the individual will be the primary finance resource responsible for the Group’s treasury related matters.  The individual will partner with leaders from all functions including IT, and other parts of the Finance function to ensure the correct handling, accounting for and reporting of treasury related matters.  Analysis of key components will also be a key part of the role.


What You Will Do:

  • Subject Matter Expert for Finance on all treasury related matters
  • Determining treasury strategy and policy
  • Responsibility for the five core treasury functions as follows:
    • capital markets and arranging appropriate funding
    • cash and liquidity management
    • corporate financial management
    • financial risk management
    • treasury operations and controls
  • Including but not limited to:
    • managing daily cash balances and trading in the financial markets
    • ensuring that the Group’s cash flows allow it to operate effectively
    • Cash flow forecasting
    • Undertaking risk management activities around currency and interest rate exposures
    • Analyzing impact of financial markets on performance
    • Making decisions about the short-term use of company funds
    • Negotiating new loan or overdraft terms with company bankers and the capital markets
  • Creating solutions to new financial challenges by applying financial or treasury knowledge
  • Supervising, and taking responsibility for, more junior members of staff
  • Keeping up to date with financial and industry developments
  • Making presentations to the company board on specific treasury related matters
  • Architect best in class, future state treasury processes and systems in a greenfield site
  • Processes enhancement over time to address simplicity, standardisation and scalability
  • Ensure treasury processes are efficient and compliant with relevant standards and identify gaps and opportunities for improvement
  • Manage the month-end (hard) close process for the Treasury cycle, ensuring all checks and reconciliations to other systems have been performed and that KPIs are accurately reported
  • Lead in the area of Treasury reporting and analysis of the company-wide business, for Board of Directors, Senior Management Team and Finance leaders
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting in response to ad-hoc reporting requests
  • Full responsibility for managing the external audit of Treasury
  • This role will be supported by a (remote) junior treasury assistant.


What You Will Bring:

  • Practical long-term experience from working in a treasury department or team with personal exposure to all aspects of the five core treasury functions
  • Extensive knowledge of treasury related matters
  • Treasury management experience
  • Presentation of financial information
  • Audit and control
  • Strong documentation and organisational skills
  • The ability to work to deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Understanding of US GAAP accounting practices
  • Excellent problem solving and organisational skills
  • Experience of a quoted company environment
  • Management of a small team
  • Implementations of new Treasury systems
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels; able to develop strong working relationships inside and outside of Finance
  • At least 7 years relevant post qualification experience
