Job Purpose

This role offers the opportunity to work in an exciting, open and collaborative environment as part of the IT Application Services - Enterprise Data Management team. We are looking for a Senior BI Data Analyst who shall be responsible for understanding business processes of various internal Business Units (Finance, Sales, Marketing, Tech Support, Product) and help support their Data & BI needs. The successful candidate will have hands on experience with Power BI, Snowflake, SSAS Cubes, Advanced Analytics (R, Python). Experience and deep understanding of Agile and Waterfall development methods to manage projects.

 

Main Duties

  • Serve as primary liaison between the user community and the IT Technical team, ensuring that business processes and requirements are unambiguous, testable, measurable and articulated in a manner that allows the technical team to propose, estimate and construct appropriate solutions.
  • Build strong relationships with internal business peers and develop/maintain an understanding of the business process areas under our responsibility that is equal to or exceeding those of our colleagues operating the business.
  • Organize, lead, and facilitate multiple highly complex, cross-functional, enterprise data and analytics initiatives.
  • Being prescriptive by leveraging advanced analytics (R, Python, AI/ML) methods that increase value to the customer (both internal and external)
  • Develop and executive machine learning algorithms (Regression, K-means, Random forest etc.) for predictive analytics.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to create and maintain a product roadmap in Jira. Continuously groom and prioritize the backlog based on stakeholder expectations across groups and help in negotiating priorities.
  • Run roadmap planning sessions working closely with business stakeholders to manage the backlog of requests; Assist team in prioritization of bug fixes and enhancement requests as part of run-rate activities supporting business operations. 
  • Automate operational metrics to measure the efficiency and productivity of the team.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical subject matter to a non-technical audience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment and agility to alternate between strategic projects and tactical reporting/analysis requests.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Computer science, Information systems, business-related subject, or equivalent
  • 7-10 years of experience in the data warehouse and Business Intelligence space.
  • 2+ years’ experience with advanced analytics using R, Python, AI/ML
  • 5+ years' experience in working as a Product Owner.
  • 3+ years' experience with implementing and/or supporting Business Intelligence Tools (i.e., PowerBI, Tableau and/or Looker or equivalent)
  • 2+ years’ experience with being a part of and supporting an Enterprise-wide Data Management Strategy
  • Experience with and sound understanding of the modern cloud-based data warehouses technologies such as Snowflake(preferred), Google, Amazon, Azure
  • Experience with Sales, Finance, Marketing, Employee, Product data in applications like Salesforce, NetSuite, Zuora, Clari, Anaplan, Google Analytics etc.
  • Strong Technical background and capability to write advance queries to do data analysis and mining.
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of Agile Software Development methodologies (Jira preferred)
  • Strong command of data modelling, data integration, data virtualization, data warehousing, in-memory computing, major BI platforms, data sciences, and machine learning
  • Hands-on experience in ETL, SQL, Python, APIs, and other related standards
  • Knowledge and experience with MDM and Data quality is a plus.
  • Experience with Data Governance framework is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and high attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, driven individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong team orientation and collaborative style. Flexible demeanour and an ability to get involved in the details while maintain a wider view.
  • Strong business and technical aptitude with an attitude to solve complex problems.
