Role Summary:

The Regional Financial Controller (REGION) will report to the NA Regional Controller and will have key responsibility for all aspects of accounting for all the legal entity operations in the region . This includes all elements of the finance functions covering general accounting, balance sheet control, annual audits and preparation of schedules for US & Canada tax return filings. You will also be responsible for month end processes, variance analysis and ensuring timely and accurate reporting for all entities in the region. You will manage a finance team based in locations across the region and build positive and productive working relationships with the centralised functions for AR and AP to ensure that service level standards are delivered. Excellent people management and leadership skills are essential. In addition, you will be expected to develop strong working relationships with the business and other back office departments.


What You Will Do:

  • Ensure the smooth operation and following best practice processes for all aspects of general accounting.
  • Responsible for financial management reporting and analysis for variances to plan/forecast on costs and billings.
  • Responsible for Region accounting functions and the month end closing procedures to strict close deadlines.
  • Ownership and first review of balance sheet account reconciliations on a monthly basis. Prepare all information for review with NA RFC periodically.
  • Co-ordinate detailed cash flow reporting and ensure that corporate treasury policy is followed throughout.
  • Ensure compliance to all internal policies and controls (e.g. expenses, travel policy etc), providing review and sign-off.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate local audits and statutory filings, being the key contact for auditors during audit process.
  • Review the formulation of the budget, providing insight and data to commercial finance business partners.
  • Key contributor for identifying and delivering financial change, system and process improvement initiatives both within the direct team and across the division.
  • Manage team and individual performance and productivity. Regularly evaluate individual employee job performance through 1 on 1 meetings, providing constructive suggestions for improvement and rewarding accomplishments.
  • Ensure that formal staff performance reviews for all team members are conducted according to HR guidelines (biannual basis) with supplementary reviews, including the talent audits, as required (including direct and indirect reports).
  • Identify the future needs of the group and department and ensure that individuals receive the development and coaching they need, identifying and addressing poor performance and attendance
  • Work closely with local management to drive results and constantly improve operational performance to ensure growth over the prior year and achievement of the budget in constant currency.
