Job Purpose

Sophos seeks a successful leader to manage the Channel Sales Engineering team in the Eastern region.  This manager has experience guiding teams in early to mid-stage, high-growth environments while recruiting and engaging top performers to meet sales objectives and exceed partner/customer expectations.  The SE Manager will work closely with regional sales management and must also be a liaison to internal groups such as Professional Services, Product Management, Support and Engineering.  This person has an entrepreneurial approach, strong execution skills, a strong desire to win and is focused, responsible and accountable.

Main Duties

  • Drive execution of pre-sales activities to meet sales and partner/customer service objectives
  • Recruit, ramp, lead and manage regional SE team
  • Ensure effective customer experience, including hand-off to implementation team
  • Strategically leverage resources (internal and partner) to support objectives
  • Serve as conduit from field to key internal constituents (Management, Consulting, Product Management, Support, Engineering)
  • Help identify, develop and disseminate new and improved field best practices
  • Consistently attain/exceed objectives, sales targets, and customer expectations
  • Be a strong executive presence when participating in field activities


Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience in SE management from enterprise software companies, including recruiting, on-boarding and measurement of team performance, desired
  • 7+ years’ experience in pre-sales from enterprise software companies
  • Experience in prioritization of team activities and forecasting of demands on internal resources to meet sales objectives
  • Experience managing delivery of multiple, complex pre-sales projects
  • Strategic selling skills – crafting solutions to address unique customer issues
  • Experience in development of pre-sales best practices
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (presentation, verbal, and written)
  • Experience in early to mid-stage and high-growth environments
  • Experience in working with partners in pre-sales activities
  • Strong enterprise software experience and networking background
  • Security certifications are a plus e.g. CISSP, CCNA, and/or CISA
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Passion for customer service, winning and success
  • Able to travel extensively in the region
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or sciences or equivalent experience
