Job Purpose

The Sophos Data Science Team, researches, develops, and deploys cutting edge machine learning technology for Sophos' security products.  The group is led by the company's Chief Scientist and has an outsized role in setting the company's vision and strategy.  We're seeking a program manager to own our roadmaps around research, the transition of research prototypes into our company's product line, and maintenance of data science systems once they are in the field.  The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be conversant around issues of software and cybersecurity, have a willingness to come up to speed on machine learning terminology, and will be driven and confident.  This is a remote position involving interaction with teams over very diverse time zones in the US, Europe, and Australia.


Skills & Experience

  • At least 4 years of experience in program management and a minimum of 2 years experience managing cybersecurity projects
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to be firm, but also polite and empathetic with respect to project deadlines and milestones
  • Fluency in cybersecurity and software terminology, with an aptitude for coming up to speed on data science terminology
  • Willingness to work remotely and the ability to stay productive in a remote role
  • Willingness to travel around 10%
