Job Purpose

The Senior Contracts Manager role will be responsible for drafting, negotiating and managing contracts, in the India and the Asia Pacific region. This role will work closely with and support multiple members of the Legal team and will report to the Global Director, Commercial Contracts.


Main Duties

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and interpret commercial contracts in compliance with company policies and risk tolerances, including supplier contracts, master services agreements, statements of work, software licensing agreements, and supporting documents
  • Provide rapid, practical, business-oriented legal/commercial contract advice directly to management, finance, and other company departments on legal issues and risks, procedures and negotiation strategies, and contracts and deal structures
  • Support the continuous improvement of standard form agreements and contract management and legal processes and policies.
  • Manage projects and initiatives that help identify and mitigate legal risk
  • Collaborate with business leaders and internal departments to accomplish company objectives
  • Provide guidance and direction to other team members as needed
  • Initiate projects on behalf of the legal department and organization
  • Responsible for handling various tasks simultaneously and managing assigned projects to completion
  • If assigned direct reports, additional responsibilities could include interviewing candidates, fostering a positive environment, providing guidance/direction including both positive and constructive feedback


Skills & Experience

  • At least five to seven years of experience drafting, negotiating and managing contracts and commercial transactions at an in-house legal department.
  • Experience negotiating commercial contracts and other experience demonstrating ability to handle and close commercial and legal negotiations in India and the greater Asia Pacific region.
  • Ability to quickly understand business objective of an agreement, to identify and communicate legal issues and solutions clearly and concisely, and facilitate a risk/benefit analysis.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills. Working knowledge of O365 applications a plus.
  • Business-oriented approach to problem-solving, tempered by and appreciate for legal complexity and risk.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad variety of legal matters
  • Detail-oriented and resourceful with excellent follow-through skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize and manage workload, manage simultaneous tasks and meet deadlines within a changing, fast–paced environment.
  • Services / Software-Hardware Industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely, with high quality internet connection.
