Job Purpose:

Sophos seeks a creative, results-driven, and self-motivated PR professional to manage a fast-paced press office for the UK, Ireland and Nordics. This is a highly visible role that demand professionalism, poise, and the ability to influence and collaborate across the entire organization to achieve key business objectives.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Global Public Relations, you will play a hands-on role in helping the company to raise brand awareness and continue to establish a position of leadership in the highly competitive cybersecurity market.

You will manage an external PR agency and support marketers across the region. You will also work in collaboration with the wider team of PR leaders and social media managers to drive global campaigns and consistency, with the opportunities to lead global campaigns and initiatives.


Main Duties:


  • Work closely with regional PR agencies strategically drive coverage in regions
  • Maintain relationships with key journalists (both direct and through PR agencies) to drive coverage from all areas of the business
  • Partner with regional sales and marketing leadership to develop plans and secure budget that deliver PR programs to support regional objectives
  • Develop regional PR plans, working with agencies, on a quarterly and annual basis
  • Work with local marketing leaders to provide strategic PR counsel and guidance, and determine PR priorities
  • Effectively report on quarterly activities across the region providing strategic guidance from these quarterly evaluations
  • Work with company thought leaders and experts to write external positioning, articles, press releases, pitch content, talking points as required
  • Take the lead in promoting coverage achieved, and articulating the positive impact to the business, especially sales, marketing, and senior leadership
  • Participate as key contact and council for EMEA especially within crisis communications
  • Stay ahead of key issues in the region, drafting statements and QA for issues that impact Sophos’ business or customers
  • Manage and prep senior spokespeople to improve media engagement and share key opinions and talking points with colleagues worldwide
  • Maintain the highest standards for content quality and proofing of any communication
  • Use global monitoring systems to measure and report on media engagement success and proactively suggest projects and strategies for continual program improvement
  • Ensure that all agencies and team are aware of key messages, corporate positioning, stay on brand







  • 8+ years’ experience in a similar role, or at a PR agency
  • Proven ability to work with and appropriately manage a PR agency
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, ability to present with confidence is essential



  • Cybersecurity or technology experience is desirable
