Job Purpose

 

Reporting to the Director of FP&A, this role will lead a team of five Financial Analysts and Business Partners in the UK and the US. The team is responsible for providing Finance Business Partnering to the Global Sales Organisation (primarily the Chief Revenue Officer and Senior Vice President Global Channels, both based in the US), Commercial approval flows relating to sales, reporting of billings and commercial metrics, and forecasting of billings. The role will work very closely with Sales, Sales Operations, Product Teams, and other areas of Finance.

 

Main Duties

 

  • Finance Business Partnering for Global Sales Organisation, handling budget management, billings planning and ad-hoc analysis and financial support
  • Provision of monthly and quarterly Billings reporting (detailed reports for Senior Management Team, Sales leaders and Product teams, as well as Flash reporting)
  • Ownership of Group full-year and half-year billings planning processes, and supporting Sales team with weekly forecasting
  • Analysis of renewal book, and reporting of renewal and retention rate data
  • Provision of a detailed suite of financial metrics / KPIs; to be rebuilt in a new Next-Generation Business Intelligence tool during 2020
  • Manage Finance approval flows for discounted sales deals, sales promotions, channel rebates and credit notes
  • Oversee the monthly close process for billings, as well as owning the group billings policy and ensuring that correct revenue recognition is applied on sales deals
  • Financial modelling and due-diligence to support Commercial decision-making / M&A
  • Financial review of annual sales rep quotas and support decision-making with regard to commission structures, schemes and exceptions

 

Skills & Experience

 

  • Proven successful experience managing Finance team-members within a fast-paced environment
  • Degree-educated, and holder of a Professional Accountancy Qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA, with at least 5 years post-qualified experience in FP&A / Commercial Finance
  • Strong analytics and financial skills
  • Able to handle conflicting priorities and work to tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills required; able to develop strong working relationships outside of Finance
  • Comfortable providing impactful and actionable reporting and analysis
  • Working pattern flexibility will be required to support a Global function (with significant US presence), and when necessary support deal approval outside of UK hours, particularly at month-end
  • Experience of working in a software company (preferable)
  • Experience of sales commissions (preferable)
  • Experience of working in the Commercial Finance team of a publicly-listed or private-equity owned company (preferable)
