Salesforce Technical Architect


Sophos is looking for an experienced, passionate individual to establish and drive technology vision, strategy, and roadmap for delivering secure & scalable capabilities on the Salesforce.com platform. Armed with a deep understanding of Salesforce and related technologies, this role will champion best practices when considering business requirements. Responsible for design and implementation of quality solutions using recommended platform standards.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Define and implement a technical strategy and roadmap that supports our business needs as they evolve
  • Champion best practice, engage with strategic partners to align capabilities, identify gaps in business processes and influence business roadmaps
  • Build strategy for upcoming platform releases and other emerging technologies
  • Provide Architectural vision, guidance, and governance to the delivery teams
  • Own and define principles, standards, design patterns and policies on the platform. Provide reference implementation / POC.
  • Work with other architects, security, and compliance teams to ensure that security and performance are considered as part of changes being made
  • Lead design sessions, collaborating with business analysts, architects, and Business Stakeholders
  • Assure throughout the project delivery lifecycle that solutions adhere to standards and principles and align with the overall Architectural vision and strategy
  • Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for the technology within the organization
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting support including after-hours support for P1/P2 severity bugs when required
  • Create and manage technical documentation
  • Manage technical relationship with vendors
  • Demonstrate thought leadership and promote knowledge sharing
  • Own technical design and the implementation ensuring fit for purpose for the application following best practices
  • Drive innovation by working together with other teams
  • Mentor, coach, and support members of the delivery teams, providing hands on guidance and leading by example.


Required Skills:


  • Ability to influence and drive technology change with demonstrable business benefits
  • Minimum 5 years proven track record of software development and delivering major projects on Sales and/or Service Cloud.
  • Deep understanding of capabilities and limitations of Force.com, Heroku, and related ecosystem technologies including Partner/AppExchange offerings.
  • Demonstrated experience in Apex development, Platform Governor Limits, OO development, Architectural Patterns, Continuous Integration and Delivery and Source control.
  • Experience with both Agile and Waterfall development processes.
  • Enterprise level analysis skills, Relational Database modelling, Integration, Web Service & Data Migration Experience
  • Strong communication, collaboration, problem solving, time management and organizational skills


Desired Qualifications:


  • Salesforce Certified Architect credentials.
