The role:


We are looking for a Compliance Assurance Engineer to work within SophosLabs to support our journey to fulfil compliance requirements, specifically FedRAMP, leading and participating in audits to ensure the compliance of SophosLabs and to identify changes to improve the whole process of compliance and audit.  To succeed in this role you need to be self-motivated and passionate about standards, high quality deliverables, continuous improvement and team working. You need to cooperate between global teams and keen to use your excellent skills to contribute the success of SophosLabs.

This role is a key influencer on policy and awareness and is responsible for the development, review, implementation, and maintenance of SophosLabs certification compliance program.

Main duties:


  • Performs risk assessment control audits on current certification and policies and ensures we are following those policies
  • Identifies top risks to SophosLabs and the behaviours that must change to mitigate those risks
  • Identifies opportunities to enhance Sophoslabs internal controls and operational efficiencies
  • Track remediation of issues noted in audit reports
  • Drive and manage SophosLabs Compliance roadmap, activities and Audits
  • Report progress to Project Management and QA director
  • Key SophosLabs contact for the Company compliance and audit actions
  • Represent compliance expectations in SophosLabs operations
  • Report, share knowledge and educate SophosLabs organisation about compliance expectations
  • Internal and external participation and communication on compliance activities and results
  • Review controls and policies quarterly to maintain relevance
  • Create & maintain a framework that effectively measures compliance with policies
  • Ensures BC / DR plan is effective, up to date and all stakeholders are trained and informed
  • Have and maintain an expert knowledge of the relevant legislative, contractual, compliance and technical information requirements
  • Articulate complex compliance issues into business focused terms and communicate with the wider teams
  • Identify, propose, and initiate improvements to the compliance process and effectiveness
  • Assist and mentor other team members


Valued Skills and Experience or Development Opportunities


  • Knowledge and expertise in standards and compliance such as
    • SOC2
    • ISO27001
  • FedRAMP experience is a great advantage
  • Expertise in Auditing and Risk assessment in a business context with practical experience developing and implementing appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to handle complexity and innovate.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving company environment and drive results.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills – ability to communicate across and up the organization including internal communication to gain buy-in on strategy.
