Job Purpose

Supporting the Engineering team throughout product development, you will be responsible for requirements gathering, managing backlogs, all the way through launch, sales and ongoing maintenance.

 

You must possess a good blend of technical acumen with the ability to work closely with Engineering, with a big-picture vision that you can communicate to customers, partners, and industry analysts.

 

As part of the role, you will develop requirement documents, research the market and the competition, and work with cross-functional teams to drive the definition and delivery of features, functionality, and roadmap. The ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into tangible benefits is crucial. 

 

This position will be based in the UK, requiring daily collaboration with globally distributed teams, 1:1 with the development team in Abingdon, and (subject to Covid-19 restrictions) might require some worldwide travel to Sophos locations, partners and customers.

 

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Engineering to define product requirements, co-ordinate releases and define the features and capabilities necessary to win in this market
  • Develop and execute product roadmaps for product launches and enhancements.
  • Work closely with Marketing to provide input into the go to market strategy, including product packaging, pricing, positioning, key benefits, and target markets.
  • Collaborate with other Product Managers and teams within Sophos, identifying synergies, flagging dependencies/risks, aimed at delivering cross product and cross business unit deliverables while ensuring that the best company-level decisions are taken.
  • Maintain knowledge of competitors’ product offerings and assist in identifying market opportunities and gaps in the Sophos offerings to ensure that Sophos products remain competitive and differentiated in the marketplace.

 

 

      Requirments

 

  • Degree in Computer Science, IT or equivalent
  • Deep knowledge of cybersecurity products and market
  • Good knowledge of the Endpoint and Cloud Security market and products with an appreciation of the operational practices, business functionalities and competitive landscape
  • Hands-on experience working in an agile software development environment.
  • Ability to communicate across and up the organization to gain buy-in on product strategy and technology implementation.
  • Conducting market analysis, developing business cases, and driving product requirements.
