Job Purpose


This is a broad and challenging role within the NEMEA Field Marketing team based out of Sophos’s Headquarters in Abingdon which will deliver marketing activities targeted at both end-users and the channel for the Nordics region.


Main Duties


  • Create marketing plans with the Nordics sales team ensuring the correct resource and budget is attributed to each country and fulfilling company and regional objectives.
  • Build relationships with the marketing contacts at Distributors and key Resellers within the Nordics region and support them in creating marketing plans and driving them towards execution.
  • Deliver the activity you own in the NEMEA marketing plan including budget management and appropriate distribution of MDF for the Distributors and Resellers within the Nordics.
  • Plan and execute direct to end-user marketing activity for the region including; PPC/SEO, 3rd party lead generation, email campaigns, social media, events, webinars, etc.
  • Where necessary adapt corporate campaigns for the region and roll out to end-users and provide co-branded versions for Distributors and Resellers.
  • Work with the Nordics sales team and Distributors to deliver effective ‘to channel’ communications, fully understanding the needs of the Resellers within this region. For example, newsletters, events and webinars.
  • Support Nordics Resellers in the uptake of ‘thru channel’ marketing activity examples being digital marketing, campaigns and events.
  • Work with the Nordics Sophos Channel Account Managers to improve the uptake of Sophos’s channel enablement tools such as ‘website in a box’, partner referral ID and the Channel Service Centre.
  • Remotely manage marketing events within the region including Sophos hosted seminars, tradeshows and partner events and attend where necessary.
  • Build awareness within the Nordics region using tools such as social media, third-party advertising and industry events. Work closely with the Nordics PR Manager to raise the profile of Sophos using appropriate press outlets.
  • Track and report on all marketing spend showing ROI and lessons learnt from each activity. Review MDF spend and make suggestions, based on partner revenue, on future marketing investments.  
  • Manage Sophos supplier relationships (for example, event agencies, print, design) to ensure project objectives are met with excellent value-for-money for Sophos.
  • Work effectively as part of the Field Marketing team contributing to overall team success and suggesting improvements to maximise performance.


Special Conditions


  • Must be able to travel within the UK and regularly to the Nordics region (Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway and the Baltics).
  • Must be able to work non-standard hours from time to time, e.g. to attend events and trade shows.


Organisational Structure


  • Reports to Senior Marketing Manager in the UK and works closely with the Nordics sales team, external suppliers and Sophos Distributors and Resellers.
  • Part of the NEMEA Field Marketing team and requires close working with all team members.


Expereince and Skills




  • Knowledge of executing marketing mix elements
  • Copywriting
  • Execution of marketing campaigns using digital marketing, websites, email, newsletters, direct mail, social media and events
  • Using CRM or other marketing systems to track marketing activities and investments
  • Event management/support




  • Knowledge of the IT Security or Technology Market
  • Experience in a B2B Technology company
  • Knowledge of Channel Marketing
  • Experience of working within a global, channel led organisation
  • Language skills appropriate for the region, such as Swedish, Danish, Finnish.






  • Educated to degree level or equivalent



  • Marketing qualification CIM or equivalent (or working towards)
