Our IT team develop the systems Sophos relies upon to operate and deliver the products and services for which we’ve become known around the world.  They are passionate and clued up on new technologies and products; always looking for ways to revolutionise how technology interacts with the user; and have a penchant for solving complex and challenging technical problems in a creative manner. 

 

We are looking for an accomplished Integration Technical Architect to strengthen our vibrant, agile team, working with technical delivery teams to design and deliver robust, scalable integration solutions.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for requirement checking, design, development & test governance, implementation and support of integration solutions that meet the scope and quality of customer expectations and business requirements while complying with IT development standards and architectural framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for design of project level architecture in accordance with Enterprise Architecture principles
  • Organizing and capturing technical requirements; Author and share architectural blueprints, roadmaps, best practices, standards and guidelines
  • Analyze business requirements and develop solutions that are achievable, acceptable and consistent with the Enterprise Architecture principles
  • Govern the project development, testing, implementation and support of technology solutions, making sure it follows the design and project plans
  • Participate in technical design sessions with other technical architects and reviewing/questioning other designs across the Enterprise Architecture
  • Determination of event and messaging integration requirements with REST/SOAP services between applications
  • Ensure that designs and development approaches can easily be extended and scaled without the need to re-build from the ground up and without inheriting significant technical debt
  • Lead technical teams in planning, estimating and delivering work, in accordance with agreed methodologies
  • Write technical specifications for enhancement requests at Epic & Feature level and large bugs
  • Provide after-hours support for S1 severity bugs
  • Support compliance controls and company policies within IT
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting support for your supported systems, including leveraging technical tools to analyze issues

Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • In-depth working knowledge of iPaaS platforms, specifically one or more of Informatica, Boomi, Jitterbit or Snaplogic
  • Solid understanding of RESTful API development and JSON
  • Participating in the SOA governance to ensure the process/services are defined in line with EA strategy & industry best practices
  • Knowledge of Integration Architectures (Serverless, Event Driven, Service Oriented, Data Driven)
  • Experienced in technical specification, design, and development of sophisticated business applications
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and .Net or Java based solutions
  • Proven ability to lead, influence and mentor globally dispersed teams
  • Familiar with the security demands of IT systems
  • Ability to simplify complex problems, processes or projects into component parts with reusing existing assets where possible, explore and evaluate each part systematically
  • Proven track record within an Agile Development organization, familiar with development methods and experience working with multiple projects simultaneously

 

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of DevOps – including Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment using Agile Configuration Management, Environment Management, Release Management practices
  • Knowledge using an open source ESB, specifically one or more of Mulesoft, OpenESB or Apache ServiceMix
  • Knowledge of stream integration architecture
