Job Purpose

As a member of the EMEA Centralised Payroll team you will assist with day-to-day operational tasks to help deliver the team objectives in managing payrolls across multiple entities within the EMEA region. This will include elements of the end-to-end process for payroll and direct interface with the outsourced Payroll providers. Together with ensuring the timely and accurate accounting for each country payroll and performing reconciliations of the payroll balance sheet control accounts for each legal entity.

 

Study for a professional qualification is available and the post holder will be encouraged to take on additional responsibilities as experience and department requirements allow. During the period up to qualification you should expect to gain experience working in various disciplines of the EMEA Centralised Payroll function. 

 

Main Duties

Accounting:

  • Assisting the delivery for payroll and accounting month end closing procedures and reconciliations to strict deadlines
  • Performing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating and correcting differences
  • Assist in preparation of ad-hoc and regular reports on key payroll activities, including benefit in kind taxes and reporting, holiday accruals for month 13 & month 14, payroll validations for audit purposes
  • Assist in preparation of headcount analysis and variance analysis for actual costs versus plan/forecast, with significant variances investigated and justified where applicable to EMEA Payroll Controller

 

Payroll:

  • Assisting with the end to end payroll processing of key EMEA country payrolls, including preparation, processing, post-Payroll and tax filing, in coordination with the outsourced payroll solution provider
  • Maintain payroll processing system and records by gathering, calculating, and inputting data
  • Review data feeds from HR system, ensuring fixed data changes are made in the payroll system and data remains consistent across the two systems
  • Work closely with the payroll vendor and other third parties to ensure a smooth monthly process
  • Assisting to administer employees’ benefits, supporting the Payroll Team Leader in liaison with relevant suppliers
  • Assist in maintaining the internal Payroll Procedures manual, updating any changes in process and documenting new processes
  • Assist in developing, improving and delivering against service level agreements, maintaining excellent standards of service to local Financial Controllers and Employees relating to all payroll matters
  • Provide support and deputise for Payroll Specialists on other country payroll activities, including supporting the end to end payroll processing to close, query resolution, reconciliations and reporting as needed
  • Work on EMEA Payroll team projects and miscellaneous tasks, taking a proactive role in specifying, testing and supporting new initiatives such as development of new processes and internal controls
