Job Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced Finance Generalist to join us on a six month contract. In this role you will assist the team by providing additional backfill resource / capacity so that the primary team can provide subject matter expertise to a Group project. You will assist the team and undertake current day-to-day activities across Accounting, FP&A and Financial Reporting activities.  Working within a global function, you will be in contact with overseas offices on a regular basis interfacing with dispersed teams to ensure the function’s core activities are delivered. 


Main Responsibilities:

As a part of the head-office finance team duties could be wide and varied. You will work for a series of sub-groups within the team whilst they are seconded to the Group project.  Those sub-teams have the following generic responsibilities:


Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • planning and forecasting processes
  • annual consolidated P&L and Balance Sheet plan and quarterly forecasts
  • billings and revenue plans and forecasts
  • understand the Group’s actual financial results and variances to Plan and forecast
  • quarterly review packages
  • long-term planning and modelling
  • providing consistent, high quality monthly support to senior management and finance controllers across the business
  • provide business partner support
  • support the Commercial Sales function on financial matters

Financial Control:

  • Support the month end close by ensuring all team tasks have been performed and that reporting systems reconcile to SAP and KPIs are accurately reported
  • Responsible for accounting functions and the month end closing procedures to strict close deadlines.
  • Take ownership of accounting areas such as accruals and provisions, GRNI, Investments and fixed assets
  • Ownership and first review of balance sheet account reconciliations on a monthly basis. Prepare all information for review with Regional Controller monthly.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate local audits and statutory filings, being the key contact for auditors during audit process.
  • Manage Sales tax (VAT), WHT and Corporate Tax returns ensuring that reporting deadlines for filings and payments are met.
  • management and preparation of Global sales commission plans, liaising with sales management and key sales operation mangers
  • global month end accounting activities to strict deadlines
  • Provide reconciliations and analysis for monthly/quarterly/annual variances to Plan/Forecast
  • Support other business functions in analysis of actual data

Financial Reporting:

  • Management reporting - internal
  • Quarterly / Interim / year-end reporting - external
  • Shareholder reporting – external


Skills & Experience:

  • Qualified ACA / ACCA
  • Relevant post qualification experience
  • Previous financial accounting experience; with good up-to-date technical literacy
  • Previous multi-national company reporting experience
  • Previous business partnering experience
  • Keen interest in a high-quality response to the department’s customers
  • An IT literate with excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Exposure to an ERP system and related IT environment
  • Drive and determination
  • The ability to organise a busy and demanding workload is essential as is the ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines, with changing priorities.
