Financial Accountant - Sales Commissions (Part Time)

Job Purpuse


Primarily responsible for the setting up and accurate calculation for all global sales commission plans (c 900). Preparing monthly accruals and variance reporting analysis for global sales commissions tracking costs against forecast and billings. Responsibilities include providing clearly defined processes and information to Sales Managers and individual Sales Representatives. Working closely with Commercial Finance and Sales Operations to ensure annual Quota Stack calculation is achievable ensuring all Commission targets are accurately recorded and processed correctly each month, with proactive communication with HR on all global OTC remuneration changes.  


You will be responsible for elements of the month end close as well as providing support to close the financials.


Main Duties


  • Working closely with Commercial Finance and Sales Operations to support the creation of the new Quota Stack for commissions and responsible for ensuring new Quota Stacks are achievable to calculate and the target kicker rates are clearly understood
  • Responsible for setting up global commission plans for every region, preparing an individual sales plan for every representative accurately recording their commission targets
  • Responsible for setting up and running the billings reports that drive the commission calculations and subsequently calculating all global commission plans and circulating securely to sales management
  • Provide calculation of commission kicker rates and analysis for monthly/quarterly/annual commissions accrual and explain any variances to Plan/Forecast on Sales Commissions, ensuring variances are investigated and justified where applicable to Global Projects Financial Accountant and report analysis to EMEA Controller
  • Responsible for the effective and secure communication and exchange of commission plan details to Sales Management on a monthly basis, ensuring all change notifications are approved and calculations are updated accordingly
  • Take ownership of responding timely and concisely to all Sales communications, ensuring proactive communications and building effective relationships whilst following process and procedures in place
  • Modelling of impact of potential commission changes and/or one-off schemes and supporting Commercial Finance/Sales Operations with ad-hoc reporting requests
  • Maintain up to date process documentation, making systems improvements and process changes to improve efficiency
  • Assisting in the analysis of President’s Club, forecasting attainment and tracking achievements to Club criteria, together with assisting the Global Projects Financial Accountant with the tax analysis of Club expenses
  • Work closely with the Global Projects Financial Accountant on other global project activities, supporting other global finance functions – such as Inventory reporting, COS accounting and Global Insurance – as required
  • Support other business functions in analysis of data, in particular Commercial Finance, Sales and Sales Operations
  • Work on Finance team projects, taking a proactive role in specifying, testing and supporting new initiatives such as development and documentation of new processes and internal controls

  • Must be very proficient at Excel and have some experience of a financial system
  • Study for a professional qualification is available and the post holder will be encouraged to take on additional responsibilities as experience and department requirements allow.

  • AAT Qualified / ACCA, ACA, or CIMA part or newly qualified




  • Newly or near qualified with at least 2 years experience in industry
