Job Purpose


Sophos are looking for an Events Manager to work within the NEMEA field marketing team who will manage end-user and channel events across the Nordics, UK, Ireland, Middle-East and Africa


Main Duties



  • Work alongside members of the NEMEA marketing team to plan and execute a mix of end-user and channel events within the region
  • Own the events schedule, online registration process and tracking, organising internal staff and speakers, booking venues, logistics, managing the branded merchandise and collateral distributed at events, creating staff briefing documents, booking hotels and venues and communicating updates to stakeholders
  • Work closely with the Marketing Managers on event promotion such as; 3rd party advertising, emails, social media, enabling sales, etc
  • Manage virtual events (webinars/podcasts) – scheduling, hosting, tracking registrations/attendance, follow-up and analysing success
  • Manage relationships with 3rd party agencies supporting events for example; event management agencies, venues, audio visual companies, catering, stand design and build agencies and transport providers
  • General project management and progress tracking for all events.  Support post-event follow up and manage any lead import requirements
  • Track, manage and report on spend for large events ensuring maximum return for budget spent, ensuring cost effective options sourced where possible
  • Post-event, create and share a full report including; return on investment data, budget versus actual spend, lessons learnt and recommendations for future events
  • Work effectively as part of the NEMEA Marketing team contributing to overall team success and suggesting improvements to maximise performance.


Key events:


  • Manage the planning and logistics for large tradeshows, such as Infosecurity Europe, IP Expo and GITEX
  • Manage the planning and logistics for Sophos Partner Roadshows across UKI, NORDICS, Middle-East and Africa
  • Manage the planning and logistics for the Sophos Northern Europe Partner Conference in London in October 2020 where 400+ partners are expected to attend
  • Manage the planning and logistics for the Middle East & Africa Partner Conference in the Middle East during September 2020
  • Manage the planning and logistics of the Sophos Customer Event in London in October 2020 where 400+ delegates are expected to attend


Special Conditions


  • Must be able to travel both within and outside of the UK to other regions
  • Must be able to work non-standard hours, e.g. to attend events and trade shows.


Organisational Responsibility


  • Reports to Senior Marketing Manager and works closely with sales, company suppliers and Sophos Partners.
  • Part of the NEMEA Marketing team and requires close working with all team members.







  • Demonstrable experience in similar role
  • Event management experience
  • Budget management
  • Working with 3rd party suppliers & agencies




  • Knowledge of the IT Security or Technology Market
  • Experience of a fast-paced working environment
  • Experience in writing marketing communications to support event promotion
  • Working with virtual event platforms, such as GoToWebinar
