Market Intelligence Strategic Advisor


Under the guidance of the Head of Analyst Relations, you will work closely with key internal and external stakeholders to refine and deliver programs that maximise awareness and understanding of Sophos products and services among the analyst community and, by extension, customers, prospects and partners.


As a member of the Sophos Market Intelligence team which comprises analyst relations, competitive intelligence and peer reviews, your primary goal is to act as a strategic partner to the business providing actionable information, analysis, insight and feedback to help achieve the organisation’s strategic objectives.


You will be responsible for planning and participating in analyst briefings, inquiries, strategy days and more to influence Sophos’ positioning in existing markets and guide the definition and creation of new and emerging markets. Working closely with a number of groups within Sophos, you will manager analyst evaluation research cycles to drive an accurate representation of corporate strategy, execution and vision in the market. You will cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key analysts, providing regular updates and synthesizing their feedback.


Main Duties


  • Assist in identifying market opportunities and gaps in Sophos’ offering to ensure that Sophos products and services remain competitive and differentiated in the marketplace.
  • Collaborate with product teams and other internal stakeholders to identify research needs and opportunities to drive positive analyst interactions.
  • Lan, schedule and participate in analyst interactions.
  • Manager analyst evaluation cycles (e.g. Gartner Magic Quadrant, Forrester Waves, IDC MarketScapes etc.).
  • Monitor, track and synthesize analyst research including published reports, webinars, live presentations etc.
  • Develop positioning and messaging that differentiates Sophos offerings in the market.
  • Work closely with Marketing to leverage analyst assets (e.g. published research, evaluations, hosted webinars etc.) in awareness and lead generation campaigns.
  • Maintain knowledge of competitive product offerings and positioning in the market.
  • Measure progress / activities and report on project objectives and status to business partners and management.
  • This position will be based in the UK, requiring daily collaboration with globally distributed teams and (Subject to Covid-19 restrictions) requires some worldwide travel to Sophos offices, analyst locations and events.


Skills and Experience




  • Knowledge of the Endpoint, Firewall and/or Cloud security market and products with an appreciation of operations practices, business functionalities and competitive landscape.
  • Understanding and affinity for technology and ability to learn new technical product details.
  • A team player who adds curiosity and creativity to our positive collaborative culture.
  • Strong analytical ability to assess research relevance.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, managing resources and several projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Ability to communicate with members of the analyst community to gain understanding and buy-in on product and go to market strategies, technology implementation and organisational vision.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to turn vision into structured plans and actions.
  • Strong work ethic, integrity and organisational skills.
  • Prior experience with industry analysts.




  • Established relationships with industry analysts covering specific market segments.
  • Proven experience with product management or defining product requirements.
  • Good knowledge of marketing strategies (content creation, social media SEO etc.).
  • Experience working with or within a start-up work environment will be beneficial as will an entrepreneurial mindset and a drive to build a business.
