Job Purpose


The Foundation team develops and maintains Sophos security software for Microsoft Windows environments. It works closely with other development teams to deliver the best protection to Sophos customers with high-quality.

This role provides the opportunity to manage an Agile development team, within a wider Windows product group. Collaborating hands-on as part of the team for the development and/or testing of complex systems; including requirements analysis; security best practices; concept development and design; implementation; testing; demonstrating flexibility of role as required. Responsible for both road mapped projects and responding to filed issues and escalations.

Main Duties


  • Actively delivers high-value and high-quality solutions which meet business needs
  • Actively drives and contributes to release planning
  • Coaches effective Pairing across all team activities
  • Hands-on involvement in Coding/Testing through pairing in C++ and Python
  • Actively drive the adoption of test automation.
  • Ensure Quality of releases through test coverage reviews
  • Incrementally drive and improve system design throughout the project
  • Promote involvement of key stakeholders throughout the project (Product Managers, IT, Support etc…)
  • Owns the stability and security of code produced through Continuous Integration; a focus on test automation and security best-practice
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis investigations. Identify trends and areas of weakness, and drive corrective actions
  • Accurately tracks development activities and succinctly reports progress and issues.
  • Identify and manage the team and individuals to a high performance, competency and commitment
  • Promotes an atmosphere of innovation and result focus
  • Other duties and responsibilities as directed
