Job Purpose

 

The SAP Functional Consultant/ Business Analyst plays a leading role in analysing business requirements, facilitating the implementation and operational support of SAP modules and functionalities, ensuring cross functional and application integration to enhance Sophos business functionality and performance.

 

Main Responsibilities

 

  • Builds relationships with internal customers to develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the business operations and needs, makes recommendations that increase value to the customer (both internal and external).
  • Responsible for successful implementation of SAP functionality, enhancements, development of new or improved processes / procedures; providing functional expertise and consulting to Sophos business partners.
  • Maintains detailed knowledge of SAP and industry best practices, advise representatives from the business and IT on the impact of new and emerging functionality.
  • Adheres to all organizational standards.
  • Analyse the current business processes and scenarios and recommend solutions to meet Sophos needs.
  • Gather and refine business requirements with stakeholders for an assigned project, change or application maintenance activity, refining these to the point that they are unambiguous, consistent, testable, measurable, and complete.
  • Initiate and lead analysis & design sessions with the business and IT stakeholders to clarify business requirements and agree on functional specifications.
  • Proposes options to meet business requirements and, when faced with conflicting requirements/solutions, work closely with IT partners and business stakeholders to mitigate those conflicts and assess trade-offs required in proposed software/solution designs.
  • Create functional specifications based on business requirements, understanding of user perspectives.
  • Performs, configuration based upon agreed functional specification, maintaining documentation in accordance to defined standards
  • Performs unit testing, systems integration tests, maintaining documentation in accordance to defined standards.
  • Performs Super User training and provides leadership and support to Super Users to facilitate User Acceptance Testing.
  • Review solutions proposed by IT developers and provide feedback and recommendations, as part of project execution, to ensure that user requirements are met.
  • Validate solutions delivered by IT developers. Ensure solutions meet user requirements/expectations based on documented functional specifications.
  • Communicate user expectations to business and technical audiences so that informed requirements and design decisions can be made.

 

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • SAP ECC6 Configuration and cross functional integration experience within the SAP MM and Finance Modules as a minimum.

  • Operating as a Business Analyst within a Purchasing and Supply Chain function with a strong understanding of the underlying processes

  • Demonstratable experience in multiple end to end SAP Projects
  • Requirements elicitation and management
  • Translation of business requirements into functionality to be implemented using software
  • Ability to adapt communication style to technical and non-technical audiences, both verbally and in writing
